Step 1: Prep the board with Mod Podge

Brush a generous, even layer of Mod Podge over the wooden base, edge to edge.

Pro tip: Work quickly to keep the surface wet so the cardstock grabs smoothly.

Step 2: Place & smooth the cardstock

Center the circular cardstock on the base. Press from the center outward with your fingers or a flat edge (old gift card) to push out air bubbles.

Pro tip: If a bubble appears, lift gently from the nearest edge, lay it back down, and smooth again.

Step 3: Seal the top

Apply a thin top coat of Mod Podge over the cardstock. Let dry about 20 minutes.

Pro tip: Thin coats dry clearer and reduce wrinkles.

Step 4: Paint the laser-cut letters

Paint the “Oh Hello” letters with the included brown paint. Let dry 10–20 minutes.

Pro tip: Use light pressure and a small brush for clean edges; do 2 thin coats if needed.

Step 5: Glue the letters to the sign

Once the top coat is dry to the touch, glue the letters onto the sign where you like them (centered looks classic).

Pro tip: Dry-fit first to check spacing before gluing.

Step 6: Add rope detailing

ree

With the hot glue gun, trace the letter shapes and gently press the jute rope along each line. Work in small sections so the glue stays tacky.

Pro tip: Cut rope ends at a slight angle and tuck neatly for an invisible finish.

Step 7: Finish with the floral accent

ree

Attach the floral/greenery piece where it balances your design, often bottom right or top left.

Pro tip: Try a dry-fit in a few spots and snap quick photos to choose your favorite composition.

You’re done, happy crafting!

Troubleshooting & FAQs

My paper wrinkled, help!

Small wrinkles often flatten as Mod Podge cures. For stubborn bubbles, use a pin to vent air and gently smooth.

Can I use a heat gun to speed drying?

A brief, low-heat pass from 12–18” away is okay. Don’t overheat! Too much heat can cause rippling.

The rope won’t stay put.

Work in 1–2” glue sections and press for a few seconds. If needed, add a second thin bead.

How do I seal the finished piece?

Optional: Add a final thin coat of Mod Podge over everything except the greenery for extra durability.

Is this kid-friendly?

Yes, with adult supervision for hot glue use.

Safety notes

• Use hot glue carefully keep fingers clear and place the gun on a heat-safe surface.

• Craft in a ventilated area.

• Keep small parts and hot tools away from young children and pets.
